DRIVE is a psycho-educational program for individuals charged with impaired driving who are ready to:

  • examine the effect an impaired driving charge has had on their lives
  • understand the legalities and risks associated with impaired driving
  • recognize why they drink and/or use drugs
  • establish goals to change drinking and drug use habits
  • create strategies for long-term success

With the aid of an experienced instructor and a supportive group environment, participants will learn effective coping skills and stress management techniques geared to preventing relapses.


All program participants must:

  • be present and punctual for each session
  • attend one AA or NA meeting
  • keep a daily diary
  • complete homework assignments
  • not drink alcohol for the duration of the six week program
  • be prepared to set an appropriate goal
  • pay in full prior to the first session


Advance payment of $900 (HST included) is necessary to register in DRIVE, the Impaired Driving Program.

To register by phone, please call 905-493-7837. Our administrative assistant will process your application. We accept Visa or MasterCard. At that time, or a mutually agreeable time, Katey, will conduct a brief telephone intake.


To register by mail, click here to open the registration form. Please print, complete and mail this form along with a certified cheque or money order payable to STEP Inc. When your payment is received, Katey will call you to conduct a brief telephone intake.

To register in person, please come to our office at 1032 Brock Street South, Unit 7, Whitby, Ontario, L1N 4L8. We accept cash, certified cheques, debit, Visa and MasterCard.
